Clippers Explode for 84-72 Win

Bronxville, NY - The Concordia College women's basketball team scored a season high 49 first half points and coasted to an 84-72 win over the Lady Seahawks of Briarcliffe College tonight at the Meyer Athletic Center in Bronxville, NY.

 

 

Forward Dana Rommel (Staten Island, NY) secured her first double-double of the season with game highs of 19 points and 12 rebounds. Freshman Jessica Zielske (Boca Raton, FL) threw in a season high 15 points and added 6 rebounds. Junior Cherise Moreland (Laurelton, NY) shot 3 for 5 from 3-point range to finish with 9 points. Junior Gianna Zonghetti (Garrison, NY) and freshman Kayla Koch (Kings Park, NY) each added 8 points. Sophomore Amanda Eggink (Red Hook, NY) pulled down 10 rebounds and junior Brittany Binnie (Middletown, NY) dished out a season high 11 assists.

For the Lady Seahawks, Leona Virgo scored 19 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. Elisha Raiford had a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds. Danielle Eagan and Amarylys Ortiz each chipped in 10 points. Virgo and Raiford both led the Lady Seahawks with 5 assists each.

The win improves the Clippers record to 2-3 on the season. Briarcliffe College falls to 1-3 overall.

Concordia will return to the court on Monday, December 1st, as they finish their 3-game homestand against the Rams of Philadelphia University in a non-conference match-up at the Meyer Athletic Center. The action begins at 5:00 PM.
