Women's Basketball Falls to Warriors 76-66
Bronxville, NY - The Concordia College women's basketball team was defeated in their home opener by the Warriors of East Stroudsburg University 76-66 in a non-conference game this afternoon at the Meyer Athletic Center in Bronxville, NY. The loss drops the Clippers to 1-3 on the season. East Stroudsburg improves to 2-2 overall.
Concordia was led by junior Dana Rommel (Staten Island, NY), who finished with a game high 28 points on 11 for 20 (55%) shooting. Rommel also grabbed 7 rebounds. Junior Brittany Binnie (Middletown, NY) finished with 13 points, 9 rebounds, 7 assists and 2 steals. Sophomores Amanda Eggink (Red Hook, NY) and Kasey Grisanti (Bronx, NY) each added 8 points and freshman Jessica Zielske (Boca Raton, FL) chipped in 6 points and 4 assists. Eggink also had a game high 11 rebounds.
For the Warriors, Jackie Yandrisevits collected 19 points and had a team high 9 rebounds. Mel Villano added 14 points and 3 assists while Kristen Murray chipped in 13 points and 5 rebounds. DeAnna Rayam and Alexa Detzi finished with 9 points and 8 points, respectively.
The Clippers will return to action on Monday, November 24th to face Briarcliffe College at the Meyer Athletic Center. The game will get underway at 5:00 PM.
