Clippers Fall to Purple Knights 75-49

Bronxville, NY - The Concordia College women's basketball team was defeated by the University of Bridgeport Purple Knights 75-49 last night in an East Coast Conference  match-up at the Meyer Athletic Center in Bronxville, NY.

The Clippers were led by freshman Kayla Koch (Kings Park, NY), who posted 14 points, 6 rebounds and 5 steals. Sophomore Kasey Grisanti (Bronx, NY) finished with 11 points, 5 rebounds and 5 steals and teammate Gina Amato (West Haven, CT) scored a career high 7 points and grabbed 3 rebounds in 11 minutes of action. Junior Gianna Zonghetti (Garrison, NY) chipped in 6 points and 6 rebounds. Sophomore Amanda Eggink (Red Hook, NY), the team's leading rebounder, pulled down 9 boards to go along with 4 points.

For the Purple Knights, Sidney Parsons led all scorers with 17 points and 6 assists. Shannon Malone shot 70% (7 for 10) from the floor in scoring 16 points and adding 7 rebounds. Julia Colley finished with 13 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for Bridgeport.

The Clippers fall to 2-16 on the season and 0-9 in the East Coast Conference. The University of Bridgeport improves to 6-12 overall and 5-4 in conference play.

Concordia will return to action on Saturday, January 31st, as they host the New York Institute of Technology Bears in an ECC game at the Meyer Athletic Center. NYIT defeated the Clippers 71-62 back on December 3rd in Old Westbury, NY. Tip-off is slated for 1:00 PM.
