Clippers Outrun by Mavericks 103-76
Dobbs Ferry. NY - The Concordia College women's basketball team was defeated by the Mavericks of Mercy College 103-76 last night in Dobbs Ferry, NY.
Four Clippers scored in double figures, led by sophomore Kasey Grisanti (Bronx, NY), who had 14 points and freshman Kayla Koch (Kings Park, NY), who finished with 13 points and 4 rebounds. Junior Jocelyn Martin (Nesconset, NY) added 12 points and 3 rebounds, while sophomore Amanda Eggink (Red Hook, NY) chipped in 11 points and 3 rebounds. Juniors Brittany Binnie (Middletown, NY) and Dana Rommel (Staten Island, NY) each posted 8 points for the Clippers. Binnie also had a team high 5 assists and 3 steals.
For Mercy, Ashley Finnegan led all scorers with 19 points and 9 rebounds. Two Mavericks recorded double-doubles. Delmara Reece finished with 18 points and 13 rebounds and Christina Baxter had 16 points and 12 assists. Courtney Cochran and Ashley Borofsky chipped in 11 points and 10 points, respectively.
Concordia falls to 2-13 overall with their 10th straight loss and 0-7 in the East Coast Conference. Mercy College moves to 5-11 on the season and 2-5 in conference action.
The Clippers will travel to Garden City, NY on Saturday, January 24th to take on the Panthers of Adelphi University in an ECC battle. The game will begin at 1:00 PM.
