STAC Defeats Concordia 82-59
Sparkill, NY - The Concordia College women's basketball team was defeated by the St. Thomas Aquinas College Spartans 82-59 on Saturday afternoon at Aquinas Hall in Sparkill, NY.
Junior Brittany Binnie (Middletown, NY) led the way with 16 points on 6 for 10 (60%) shooting from the floor. Binnie also collected 3 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals. Sophomore Kasey Grisanti (Bronx, NY) finished with 11 points, 4 rebounds and 2 blocks while junior Dana Rommel (Staten Island, NY) added 8 points and 5 rebounds. Sophomore Amanda Eggink (Red Hook, NY) finished with a game high 11 rebounds. Freshman Kayla Koch (Kings Park, NY) scored 7 points and pulled down 5 rebounds in her first start of the season.
For the Spartans, Colleen Vogel shot 10 for 17 (59%) in scoring a game high 26 points. Vogel also had 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 blocks and 2 steals. Sylvia Davis and Theresa Dowling added 13 points and 11 points, respectively. Claire Wilson chipped in 10 points and 10 rebounds and Briana Sloper added 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Spartans.
The Clippers have lost 8 straight games and fall to 2-11 overall and 0-6 in the East Coast Conference. St. Thomas Aquinas improves to 4-11 overall and 1-5 in the East Coast Conference.
The Clippers will step out of ECC play on Monday, January 19th, as they travel to Waterbury, CT to face the Eagles of Post University. Tip-off is slated for 6:00 PM.
