Women's Basketball Downed by Knights 87-67

Bronxville, NY - The Concordia College women's basketball team was defeated by the Knights of Queens College 87-67 tonight in an East Coast Conference match-up at the Meyer Athletic Center in Bronxville, NY.  The Clippers lose their 7th straight game and fall to 2-10 overall and 0-5 in the East Coast Conference. Queens improves to 9-4 overall and 3-1 in ECC play.

The Clippers were led by junior Dana Rommel (Staten Island, NY), who finished with a team high 17 points and 11 rebounds. Sophomore Amanda Eggink (Red Hook, NY) added 10 points and 4 rebounds, while junior Gianna Zonghetti (Garrison, NY) and freshman Kayla Koch (Kings Park, NY) each chipped in 8 points. Zonghetti also pulled down 6 rebounds and had 4 assists and 3 steals. Sophomore Kasey Grisanti (Bronx, NY) and freshman Jessica Zielske (Boca Raton, FL) finished with 7 points apiece.

For the Knights, Jennifer DiChiara poured in 31 points, grabbed 23 rebounds and blocked 7 shots. Jennifer Robbins also had a double-double with 15 points and 17 rebounds, while Kara Otterbine added 9 points and 10 rebounds. Bethanie Mandresh chipped in 10 points.

The Clippers will return to action on Saturday, January 17th, as they travel to Sparkill, NY to face the St. Thomas Aquinas College Spartans in an ECC battle. The game will begin at 1:00 PM.
