Pioneers Topple Clippers 67-46
Brookville, NY - Junior Dana Rommel (Staten Island, NY) garnered her third double-double of the season with a game high 15 points and 12 rebounds, but it wasn't enough as the Clippers fell to the Pioneers of C.W. Post 67-46 last night at the Pratt Recreation Center in Brookville, NY.
Junior Brittany Binnie (Middletown, NY) finished with 9 points and 4 assists and freshman Kayla Koch (Kings Park, NY) added 6 points and 5 rebounds. Junior Gianna Zonghetti (Garrison, NY) chipped in 5 points, 3 rebounds and 4 steals.
C.W. Post featured a balanced attack with 4 players in double figures, led by Felicia Joyner who scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. Gina Catherall added 12 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists. Whitney Murrer collected a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds, while Jasmine Moore was a rebound shy of a double-double with 10 points and 9 rebounds.
With the loss, the Clippers fall to 2-9 overall and 0-4 in the East Coast Conference. C.W. Post improves to 5-6 overall and 3-1 in conference play.
The Clippers will return to the Meyer Athletic Center on Wednesday, January 14th to battle the Knights of Queens College in an ECC match-up. The game will begin at 5:00 PM.
