Eagles Soar Past Clippers 75-70

Bronxville, NY - The Concordia College women's basketball team was defeated by the Eagles of Post University 75-70 last night at the Meyer Athletic Center in Bronxville, NY. Sophomore Dana Rommel (Staten Island, NY) posted her second consecutive season high and first double-double of the year, finishing with 23 points and 13 rebounds. Rommel shot 60% (9-15) from the floor, marking the 4th straight game shooting over 50% from the floor. Freshman Amanda Eggink (Red Hook, NY) scored 9 points and grabbed 8 rebounds and Shari Cordero (Bronx, NY) added 9 points and 5 rebounds.Sophomore Brittany Binnie (Middletown, NY) chipped in 8 points and 8 assists, while junior Jennifer Osher (White Plains, NY) finished with 6 points.

 

 

For Post University, Mallorie Michalak finished with a game high 24 points and added 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Michalak was 8-13 (62%) from the floor, including 4-5 (80%) from 3-point range. Stephanie Goss scored 15 points and grabbed 15 rebounds. Jamie Martingano and Elizabeth Johnson chipped in 11 points and 10 points, respectively.

The loss drops the Clippers record to 2-22. The Eagles improve to 5-19 on the season.

Concordia will make a rare road trip in the month of February to Rockville Centre, NY to take on the Lions of Molloy College. The Lions pounded the Clippers 86-59 at the Meyer Athletic Center back on January 14th. Tip-off is set for 5:00 PM.
