Clippers Defeated by Pioneers 69-53
Bronxville, NY - The Concordia College women's basketball team was defeated by the Pioneers of C.W. Post 69-53 last night at the Meyer Athletic Center in Bronxville, NY. The loss drops the Clippers record to 2-20 overall and 1-15 in the East Coast Conference. The Pioneers improve to 14-9 overall and 11-5 in the East Coast Conference.
Sophomore Dana Rommel (Staten Island, NY) had an efficient shooting night from the floor, going 6-10 (60%) in scoring 14 points for the Clippers. Rommel also pulled down 5 rebounds before fouling out in 26 minutes of action. Freshman Amanda Eggink (Red Hook, NY) tied a season's best 57% (4-7) shooting night in scoring 11 points, while snatching 3 rebounds and blocking 2 shots. Sophomore Brittany Binnie (Middletown, NY) finished with 11 points and senior Danielle Bacon (Staten Island, NY) added 6 points, 3 rebounds and 2 steals.
For the Pioneers, Katrina Ware scored 14 points on 5-8 (63%) shooting. Whitney Murrer finished with a double-double, scoring 13 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Jasmine Moore added 12 points, 8 rebounds and 6 steals, while Basimah Thompson had 9 points, 5 assists and 6 steals.
The Clippers will return to action on Saturday, February 16th,
as they host the Bears of NYIT at the Meyer Athletic Center. The
Clippers fell to the Bears 86-64 back on January 9th in Old
Westbury, NY. Tip-off is set for 1:00 PM.
