Panthers Topple Clippers 85-36
Garden City, NY - The Concordia College women's basketball team lost to the Panthers of Adelphi University 85-36 yesterday at Woodruff Hall in Garden City, NY. The loss drops the Clippers to 0-7 overall and 0-3 in the East Coast Conference.
Junior Shari Cordero (Bronx, NY) scored 6 points and grabbed a season high 9 rebounds for the Clippers. Sophomore Brittany Binnie (Middletown, NY) scored 6 points, grabbed 2 rebounds and dished out 2 assists. Senior Danielle Bacon (Levittown, NY) finished with 5 points and 4 rebounds and sophomore Dana Rommel (Staten Island, NY) had 5 points, 2 assists and 2 steals. Freshman Amanda Eggink (Red Hook, NY) chipped in 4 points and 3 rebounds in just 16 minutes of action.
For the Panthers, Gianna Smith tallied a game high 21 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, including 8 on the offensive end. Smith shot 67% (10-15) from the floor. Serita Lee also contributed a double-double, scoring 17 points and pulling down 13 rebounds. Lisa Manetta finished with 18 points, 7 assists, 4 steals and 3 rebounds, while teammate Danielle Parks had 8 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for Adelphi. The Panthers improve to 4-3 overall and stay undefeated in East Coast Conference action at 3-0.
Concordia will wrap-up action this week on Saturday, December
8th, as they travel to Dobbs Ferry, NY to take on the Mavericks of
Mercy College in East Coast Conference action. The game will
commence at 1:00 PM.
