Four Bears Net Double Figures to Lead NYIT Past Clippers 76-44
Bronxville, NY - Brittany Smith paced four Bears in double figures with 16 points as NYIT defeated Concordia 76-44 today at the Meyer Athletic Center in Bronxville, NY. Smith also added 5 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals.
The Clippers were led by freshman Danielle McLaughlin (Staten Island, NY), who tallied 12 points on 4 for 5 (80%) from 3-point range. McLaughlin leads the East Coast Conference in 3-point field goals made (2.41/game) and is tied for 8th in 3-point field goal percentage (36%). Dana Rommel (Staten Island, NY) scored 8 points and a team high 4 assists and Jennifer Osher (White Plains, NY) added 7 points.
Alexis Tyson finished with 12 points and 9 rebounds for the Bears. Jennifer Brouillete and Jessica Matarrese each chipped in 10 points. Anette Johansen had a game high 13 rebounds, 9 points and 6 steals.
The loss drops the Clippers record to 0-23 overall and 0-16 in the East Coast Conference. NYIT improves to 8-14 overall and 7-8 in the East Coast Conference.
Concordia returns to the Meyer Athletic Center on Tuesday,
February 13th, as they host the Lions of Molloy College. This will
be the third meeting between these two teams this season. The
Clippers and Lions faced each other in the Pocono Rotary Classic at
East Stroudsburg University on December 9th. The Lions were led by
Kelly Quackenbush and Randi Bender, who scored 17 points and 15
points, respectively. The Clippers were led by McLaughlin's 17

scored 14 points. In the second meeting, the Lions prevailed 70-28
on January 13th. Tatiana Lopez scored a game high 17 points for
Molloy. Freshman Brittany Binnie Middletown, NY)
scored 8 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. The action gets underway at
