Panthers Top Clippers 64-31
Bronxville, NY - The Panthers of Adelphi University defeated the Clippers 64-31 yesterday at the Meyer Athletic Center in Bronxville, NY. Freshman Dana Rommel (Staten Island, NY) scored a team high 7 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Freshman Brittany Binnie (Middletown, NY) shot a perfect 4 for 4 from the free throw line in scoring 6 points for Concordia. Vanuza Pereira-Bravo (Brussels, Belgium) scored 4 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in her first game of the season.
For Adelpi, Gianna Smith scored a game high 14 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Lisa Manetta and Mary Lepore added 13 points and 11 points, respectively. Jordan Gambino pulled down a game high 10 rebounds, 6 of which were on the offensive end.
The Clippers fall to 0-7 overall and 0-2 in the East Coast Conference. Adelphi improves to 3-2 overall and 2-0 in the East Coast Conference.
The Clippers will travel to East Stroudsburg, PA on Friday,
December 8th to play in the Pocono Rotary Classic, hosted by East
Stroudsburg University. Concordia will face Alderson-Broaddus
College at 1:00 on Friday afternoon. The second game of the
tournament will feature East Coast Conference member Molloy College
squaring off against the host Warriors of ESU. On Saturday,
December 9th, the consolation game will begin at 1:00 PM and the
championship game will start at 6:00 PM.
