C.W. Post Handles Clippers 76-46
Brookville, NY - The Concordia College women's basketball team was defeated by the Pioneers of C.W. Post 76-46 yesterday at the Pratt Recreation Center in Brookville, NY. The Clippers were led by a pair of freshmen in the scoring column. Danielle McLaughlin (Staten Island, NY) and Brittany Binnie (Middletown, NY) each scored 10 points for Concordia. McLaughlin grabbed a season high 6 rebounds and Binnie corralled 4 rebounds. Senior Vanuza Pereira-Bravo (Brussels, Belgium) added 8 points and 6 rebounds and junior Danielle Bacon (Levittown, NY) chipped in 7 points and 4 steals.
The Pioneers were led by Erica Bell, who tallied a game high 14 points and 9 rebounds in only 21 minutes of action. Candice Rose, Alex Williams and Jennifer DiChiara all finished with 11 points and Basimah Thompson chipped in 9 points for C.W. Post.
The loss drops the Clippers record to 0-10 overall, 0-3 in the East Coast Conference. The Pioneers improve to 4-5 overall and 4-1 in the East Coast Conference.
Concordia will conclude play in the first half of the season as they host the Golden Lions of Dowling College. The game will be played on Friday, December 15 and will begin at 5:00 PM.
