Garden City, NY - The Concordia College women's basketball team was defeated by the Panthers of Adelphi University 61-38 last night at Woodruff Hall in Garden City, NY. Freshman Dana Rommel (Staten Island, NY) finished the game with 10 points, 7 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 blocks. Senior Emily Rodriguez (Bronx, NY) was a perfect 5 for 5 from the free throw line in scoring 9 points for Concordia. Junior Danielle Bacon (Levittown, NY) and freshman Brittany Binnie (Middletown, NY) each chipped in 5 points. Freshman Gianna Zonghetti (Garrison, NY) led the Clippers with 8 rebounds, 5 of which were on the offensive end.

For Adelphi, Gianna Smith was a rebound away from a double-double, as she scored a game high 18 points and pulled down 9 rebounds. Mary Lepore also performed the the feat, as she finished with 10 points and 9 rebounds. Lisa Manetta chipped in 9 points and 4 rebounds for the Panthers.

The loss drops the Clippers record to 0-19 overall and 0-12 in the East Coast Conference. Adelphi University improves to 9-10 overall and 8-4 in the East Coast Conference.

Concordia will get back to action on Saturday, February 3rd, as they host the Flyers of Mercy College at the Meyer Athletic Center. The Flyers defeated the Clippers 70-55 back on Monday, January 8th at The Westchester County Center. The action will begin at 3:00 PM.
