Clippers Edged Out by Knights 75-69
Bronxville, NY - Despite a season high 69 points, the Concordia College women's basketball team was defeated by the Queens College Knights 75-69 at the Meyer Athletic Center in Bronxville, NY. Concordia was led by freshman Danielle McLaughlin (Staten Island, NY), who tallied 21 points and 3 rebounds. Freshman forward Dana Rommel (Staten Island, NY) added 14 points and junior forward Danielle Bacon (Levittown, NY) chipped in 11 points and 4 rebounds. Freshman guard Brittany Binnie (Middletown, NY) scored 8 points and dished out a season high 11 assists. Senior center Vanuza Pereira-Bravo (Brussels, Belgium) scored 7 points and pulled down a season high 14 rebounds.
For Queens College, Mayann Walsh, Brittany Faherty and Danielle Castelli each scored 16 points and Jessica Sanchez and Janine Maser each tallied 13 points.
The loss drops the Clippers record to 0-16 on the season, 0-9 in the East Coast Conference. Queens College improves to 3-12 overall and 1-7 in the East Coast Conference.
The Clippers will be back in action on Thursday, January 25th, as the take on the University of New Haven Chargers. The game will be held in West Haven, CT and will begin at 5:30 PM.
