Bridgeport Topples Clippers
Bridgeport, CT - The Concordia College women's basketball team fell to the University of Bridgeport Purple Knights 82-49 last night in Bridgeport, CT. Freshman guard Brittany Binnie (Middletown, NY) led Concordia with 10 points, 3 assists and 2 rebounds. Freshman Stephanie Sameisky (Monroe, NY) scored a season high 8 points on 3 for 6 (50%) shooting. Sameisky also grabbed 3 rebounds, had 2 rebounds and 2 assists. Also scoring a season high was freshman Gianna Zonghetti (Garrison, NY), who tallied 7 points on the night to go along with 4 rebounds and 2 steals. Senior center Vanuza Pereira-Bravo (Brussels, Belgium) and freshmen Danielle Mclaughlin (Staten Island, NY), Dana Rommel (Staten Island, NY) and Jocelyn Martin (Nesconset, NY) all finished with 5 points. The Clippers fall to 0-15 overall and 0-8 in the East Coast Conference.
For Bridgeport, Stephanie Darden led the charge with a game high 19 points and 4 steals. Angelina Jimenez totaled 17 points, 8 rebounds and 4 steals in 20 minutes of action. Sidney Parsons scored 12 points and dished out 5 assists. The Purple Knights improve to 4-9 overall and 4-3 in the East Coast Conference.
Concordia will return home to the Meyer Athletic Center to face
the Queens College Knights on Saturday, January 20th. The action
gets underway at 3:00 PM.
