Thomas “Skip” Walsh begins his first year as Assistant Coach for the Softball team in the 2011-12 academic year.

He was previously the Head Coach for the College of New Rochelle Softball team in 2009 and 2010. He has also been a softball instructor at the Hardball Training Center in Elmsford, NY since 2009.

Prior to his stint at New Rochelle, Walsh was the Varsity Softball Coach at Eastchester High School for 30 years (1979-2008) and accumulated a 446-225 (.665) record. He coached two New York State Championship teams (1990, 1991) and three Sectional Championship teams (1990, 1991, 1995).

Thomas was awarded the New York State Coach Award in 1993, was named a Daily News Coach of the Year in 1985, 1990, 1991. He also received 3 Gannett News Coach of the Year awards and was named Coach of the Year in his league 7 times.

Walsh is a member of the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) and the Section I Hudson Valley Softball Committee.

He developed the NFL Punt, Pass & Kick Contest and the Easter Seals Basketball Shoot-Out in the town of Eastchester, NY. Walsh also was named a recipient of the Jenkins Memorial Award in 2004 for distinguished service to the Greenvale School Community.

Thomas currently resides in Bronxville, NY.
