BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – Concordia College New York head softball coach Jaime Lorenzo released the softball program's 2019 schedule on Friday, featuring eight games in Florida plus a 26-game Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) docket.
"I am very excited for the season to start," Lorenzo stated. "We have a challenging schedule this year, but I believe this group is something special and will rise to the occasion. I am looking forward to the emergence of our returning players and our new players."
The Clippers begin the campaign in Clermont, Fla. with four packed days of games from Wednesday, Mar. 6 to Saturday, Mar. 9. While in the Sunshine State, Concordia is scheduled to take on The College of Saint Rose, Walsh University, Malone College, Tiffin University, St. Thomas Aquinas College and two to be determined opponents.
CACC play begins for Concordia on the road at the University of the Sciences on Saturday, Mar. 16, with Nyack College coming to the Clipper Softball Field for the 2019 home opener on Tuesday, Mar. 19. Other home dates include Bloomfield College (Mar. 27), Caldwell University (April 4), Wilmington University (Del.) (April 6), Jefferson University (April 16), Dominican College (N.Y.) (April 24) and Goldey-Beacom College (April 27).
On the road, Concordia sees Georgian Court University (Mar. 23), Chestnut Hill College (Mar. 30), Post University (April 2), Felician University (April 10) and Holy Family University (April 13) in league play plus a non-conference tilt at the New York Institute of Technology (April 18). All CACC dates plus the NYIT matchup are doubleheaders.
The 2019 CACC Softball Championship begins on Thursday, May 2 and runs through Saturday, May 4.
Concordia finished the 2018 season with an 8-24 overall record, going 6-20 in CACC play.
