The Clippers hosted Post University in the 2010 home opener.  Alexa Rosella was called to the mound to start the first game and was completely dominate and she retired the Eagles in order.

Dena Frederick led off the Clippers first game as she reached first base on an error by the Eagles third baseman.  Maria DeMartino laid down a sacrifice bunt to move Frederick over to second and the Clippers had a runner in scoring position.  Alexa Rosella stepped up to the plate and hit a one out single to center field to score Frederick.  Angela D'Amico got a hold of a ball and ripped it to left center field for a double and Rosella wheeled her way around the bases to score.  Victoria Pisciotta kept the inning going for the Clippers with a single to the short stop and D'Amico was able to score.  At the end of the first the Clippers led 3-0.

Nicole Spadero led the second inning for the Clippers as she was walked aboard.  A fielders choice sacrifice bunt laid down by Kristina Patrocinio moved Spadero over to second and Patrocinio was called safe at first.  Dena Frederick then stepped up and loaded the bases with a single to left field.  Two plays laters Patrocinio scored off of an error by the Eagles catcher as Jaime Lorenzo hit into a fielders choice.

The Clippers continued to score as Dena Frederick it a one out double to center field to kick off the Clippers fourth inning.  A two out single to second base from Jaime Lorenzo put runners on the corners for the Clippers.  Alexa Rosella then hit a shot that went down the left field line, Frederick easily scored and Lorenzo crossed the plate as well as Rosella legged a triple for herself.  The fifth inning for the Clippers saw Victoria Pisciotta lead off with a single to short stop.  Another triple, this time from Kristina Patrocinio, to center field scored Pisciotta and the Clippers continued to hit the ball.

Alexa Rosella stayed dominate on the mound as she only let one runner get to third as she pitched through the sixth inning.

With the Clippers up 7-0 over the Eagles the Clippers needed just one more run to end the game early.  A one out double to right field from Jaime Lorenzo led the Clippers off.  Angela D'Amico then hit a single up the middle and Lorenzo scored as the Clippers won the game 8-0.

Game two saw the home debut of freshman pitcher Teresa Magnani.  Magnani got out the first inning unscathed and it was once again the Clippers turn to hit.

Maria DeMartino led the inning with a one out walk.  Jaime Lorenzo then hit a bomb to right center field and rounded the bases with a two run home run to put the Clippers on the board.  The Clipeprs continued to produce runs in the second inning.  Theresa Magnani helped herself with a single to left field.  Jenna Stueber followed suit with a single to left field of her own.  Continuing with the pattern Kristina Patrocinio hit a single down the left field line and Magnani scored.  Dena Frederick changed the direction of her single, this one going down the right field line, and scored Stueber.  A ground out to the second baseman from Maria DeMartino scored Patrocinio.  Jaime Lorenzo got on first with a one out walk.  Alexa Rosella hit a shot to right center field for a double that scored Frederick and Lorenzo.  With those runs in the second the Clippers went up 7-0.

Theresa Magnani kept her cool on the mound as the Eagles threatened to score but came up empty through five innings of play.  In the bottom of the fifth Victoria Pisciotta hit a double to center field to get on base.  Theresa Magnani then hit a ball back to the pitcher who immediately through out Magnani at first for the second out of the inning.  With the throw to first Pisciotta moved up to third and rounded the base to head home.  The Eagles first baseman saw this and threw the ball home to try and get the Pisciotta out but threw the ball away and Pisciotta touched home plate and the Clippers won the second game 8-0.

Big hitters for the Clippers included Alexa Rosella who hit 4 for 6 wtih 1 runs scored and 5 RBI's along with her 7 strike outs she hurled from the mound in game one.  Jaime Lorenzo hit 3 for 5 with 4 runs scored and 2 RBI's on the day while Dena Frederick hit 3 for 7 with 3 runs scored and 1 RBI.

The Clippers will head to Caldwell College for a double header tomorrow at 3:00pm.
