Clippers fall to Caldwell

The Clippers headed to face off against the Caldwell College Cougars in a double header softball game.  The Clippers struggled at the plate as the Cougars reitred the Clippers in order in the first inning.

Alexa Rosella hit the mound for the Clippers in the first game.  Rosella pitched well in the bottom of the first as she took down the Cougars one, two, three. 

The Clippers continued to struggle through the game as they could not get any one past second base.  Alexa Rosella continued to work well through the innings not allowing any Cougar to score.  The Cougars snuck a run in the bottom of the sixth and took game one 1-0 over the Clippers.

The Clippers continued to struggle in game two at the plate as they could only get two runners on with one hit in the first three innings. 

Jillian Maselli was given the ball for game two for the Clippers and through the Cougars put runners on the bases.  Maselli and the Clippers defense kept the Cougars from scoring. 

In the top of the fourth inning Jaime Lorenzo hit a ball over the center field fence to give the Clippers the lead.  The Clippers held the lead over the Cougars through the next full inning of play. 

The Cougars scored twice to take the lead in the bottom of the fifth inning to take the lead from the Clippers.  The Clippers only hit once more and were unable to get any more runs.  The Cougars stole game two away from the Clippers 2-1.

Theresa Magnani and Jaime Lorenzo each earned two hits for the day.

The Clippers will face off against Nyack College on Friday, April 9th.
