Clippers advance over Devils but fall to Lions to finish season
The Clippers continued their quest for a CACC Championship today as they faced off against the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia Devils where the winner would continue on and the loser would head home.
The Clippers put Theresa Magnani on the mound for the game as they
went toe to toe with the Devils. The Devils threatened to
score in the first few innings but the Clippers defense halted them
on the bases.
To start off the game the Clippers struggled at the plate through the first couple of innings. As the innings progressed onward the Clippers found their opportunities to hit and were looking to score.
Through regulation play of seven innings the score remained scoreless. The eighth inning came and went as neither the Devils nor the Clippers could score.
In the top of the ninth the Devils put two on the board to take the first lead of the game.
In the bottom of the ninth the Clippers answered back as Angela
D'Amico hit a single up the middle to start the inning off.
Victoria Pisciotta was walked aboard to move D'Amico over to
second and then both moved into scoring position on a passed
ball. Theresa Magnani then hit a sacrifice fly ball to right
field to score D'Amico for the Clippers to cut the Devil lead in
half. Nicole Spadaro knocked a single to left field to score
Pisciotta to tie the game up. Kristina Patrocinio was at the
plate and with a ball right down the middle of the plate Patrocinio
hit a two run home run over the center field fence for the Clippers
to claim the lead and the win to advance on with a 4-2 score.

home for the season.
