Three Clippers earn All-CACC honors

Three Softball players were honored today as they received All-CACC honors.  The players are nominated and then voted on by the softball coaches from the participating CACC softball teams. 

Alexa Rosella, a junior from Howard Beach, NY earned First Team All-CACC.  Primarily a starting pitcher for the Clippers Rosella was named to the First Team as an outfielder due to her time at the plate.  Rosella is currently hitting .360 and has racked up 12 doubles this season to lead the team in doubles, 3 triples and 1 home run.  Rosella also leads in RBI's this season with 38. 

Alexa currently is ranked 260th in Batting Average, 36th in RBI's per game, 56th in Doubles, 88th in Triples, 178th in Shutouts (as a pitcher), and 186th in Strikeouts (as a pitcher) in the NCAA Division II. 

Jaime Lorenzo, a junior from Eastchester, NY, earned Second Team All-CACC.  With her time at the plate Jaime leads the team and is second in the CACC in batting average as she is hitting .444.  Lorenzo has 21 RBI's with 8 doubles, 4 triples, and 2 home runs through the season so far.  She is ranked 29th in Batting Average, 150th in Slugging Percentage, 44th in Runs per game, 88th in Triples, and 20th in On Base Percentage in the NCAA Division II.

From her shortstop position Lorenzo has recorded 70 putouts, with 94 assists while turning 9 double plays this season alone. 

Victoria Pisciotta, a sophomore from New Hyde Park, NY, earned an honorable mention from the CACC for her work from behind the plate.  Pisciotta is third on the team in batting average behind Lorenzo and Rosella as she is hitting .355. 

From behind the plate Pisciotta has recorded 131 putouts with 14 assists.  She has thrown out 23 runners.
