Rosella Earns All-Conference Honors

Central Islip, NY - Sophomore Alexa Rosella (Howard Beach, NY) was selected to the ECC All-Conference Second Team, as announced by the conference office this afternoon.

Rosella appeared in 14 contests on the mound for the Clippers this season and finished with a record of 8-4. In 80.2 innings pitched, Rosella had an ERA of 3.79 and allowed 63 hits and 34 earned runs. The sophomore ended the season with a team high 52 strikeouts. Rosella allowed only a .217 batting average to her opponents this season, fifth best in the East Coast Conference.

Rosella also finished second on the team with a .314 batting average. In 86 at bats, Rosella is second on the team in RBI (12) and is tied for second on the team in hits (27). Rosella has a slugging percentage of .349 and an on base percentage of .351.

The Clippers finished the 2008-2009 season with an overall record of 14-16 and a conference record of 7-11.
