Clippers Sweep Doubleheader Against Felician

Bronxville, NY - Sophomore Alexa Rosella (Howard Beach, NY) pitched a complete game one and finished with 3 hits and 3 RBI as the Concordia College softball team swept a doubleheader against the Felician College Golden Falcons 8-2 and 8-3 yesterday afternoon at Clipper Softball Field in Bronxville, NY. Rosella allowed only 3 hits and 1 earned run in 7 innings and struck out 4 batters in the win to improve to 3-1 on the season.

Senior Julie Walsh (Bellerose, NY) picked up 3 hits and 2 RBI on the day and freshman Victoria Pisciotta (New Hyde Park, NY) batted 2-3 with an RBI and scored 2 runs in the first game. Sophomore Jaime Lorenzo (Eastchester, NY) went 4-8 in the two games and scored 4 runs. Two of Lorenzo hits were triples to bring her team leading total of hits on the season to 12. Freshman Angela D'Amico (Old Bridge, NJ) collected 3 hits and 3 RBI on the day for the Clippers. Senior Kelly Moran (Fishkill, NY) gets the win in game two, lasting 5.0 innings and allowing 5 hits and 3 earned runs, with 1 strikeout. Moran evens her record at 2-2 on the season.

For Felician, Hope VanDyke collected 2 hits and 2 RBI, while Grace Keller added 3 hits on the day. Tiffany Deeubol finished with 1 hit and 2 RBI in game two and Amber Doran had 2 hits in game two. Kelly Hughes gets the loss in the first game. Hughes was on the mound for 6.0 innings and allowed 12 hits and 5 earned runs. Hughes falls to 0-4 overall. In game two, Nicole Broeker fell to 2-3 on the year after giving up 11 hits and 7 earned runs in 5.0 innings pitched.

Concordia will return to action on Thursday, March 26th as they travel to Rockville Centre, NY to face the Lions of Molloy College in an East Coast Conference match-up. Game time is set for 3:00 PM.
