Concordia Softball Walks for Children's Cancer Fund

Bronxville, NY - On Saturday, October 4th the Concordia College softball team headed to Franklin D. Roosevelt State Park in Yorktown Heights, NY to raise money for The Children's Cancer Fund.  All the players and coaches walked for Team Sammi K.

Sammi K. is a five year old girl who is battling Leukemia.  Sammi became a friend of the program through her aunt, who works with Concordia College Assistant Coach Bob D'Avanzo's wife, Patty D'Avanzo.  For the last year, Sammi has been a fan of the Lady Clippers, so this was a great way for the softball team to give back to Sammi and all those kids who are battling Cancer.

The walk began at 10:00 AM and was over 2 miles long.  Team Sammi, which included family, friends, and the Lady Clippers, raised over $14,000 for The Children's Cancer Fund.
