Softball Signs Corriss for 2008-2009

Bronxville, NY - The Concordia College softball team has signed Ashley Corriss to an Institutional Letter of Intent for the 2008-2009 year, as announced by the Athletics Department today.

Corriss, a 5'-6"  outfielder from Sayville, NY, graduated from Saint Anthony's High School in South Huntington, NY as a four year starter. As a freshman, Corriss was a defensive MVP on the junior varsity squad. In her sophomore campaign, Corriss was team captain and batted .434, as her team won the JV League Championship. Corriss moved to the varsity team the following year and was voted Offensive MVP while batting .409 as the starting centerfielder. This past season, Corriss was voted all-league and again was a team captain.

"I am extremely excited to have Ashley join our program this fall" says Head Coach Kathy Laoutaris. "Ashley  will bring versatility and speed and we look forward to inserting her into the line-up" adds Laoutaris.

Corriss also played softball for a travel team called Fire & Ice Storm, where she played centerfield and batted leadoff. Corriss is a member of the National Honor Roll.
