Clippers improve times and place 10th in Belmont Classic
The Clippers headed back down to Philadelphia to race at the Belmont Classic yesterday on the difficult Belmont Plateau course. With one race at the Belmont under their belts the Clippers hit the course and came away improved and finished in 10th place out of 14.
James Ebersole, once again, led the Clippers with a five mile time of 36:02. Ebersole improved his course record by 1:33. Corey Grosskopf came in second for the Clippers finishing with a 36:37, improving his time by 2:02.
Martin Miedzowicz finished just one second behind Grosskopf with a 36:38 race. Miedzowicz improved by 1:23.
Kenny Gaskins, came in fourth for the Clippers improving his time
by 3:18 on the Belmont course. Gaskins finished with a 36:55
five mile run.
Michael Valdovinos improved the most on the course as he finished fifth for the Clippers. Valdovinos came in with a time of 37:12 improving his time by 6:54.
Alex Grubin rounded out the Clippers line-up witha run of 37:48 for the course. Grubin also improved his times on the Belmont by 2:56.
The Clippers look to continue their trend of improving as they next hit the Highlander Invitational on Sunday, October 10th.
