Cross Country Races in Highlander Invitational

Results

Newark, NJ - The Concordia College cross country team ran in the New Jersey Institute of Technology Highlander Invitational this past Sunday at Branch Brook Park in Newark, NJ.

On the men's side, freshman Carlos Malave (Bellport, NY) was the top finisher for the Clippers, with a time of 32:06. Malave averaged 6:28 a mile. Freshman Dustin Priest (Kingston, NY) and senior Bol Riiny (Winchester, MA) also finished the 8 KM race in the 32nd minute. Priest crossed the finish line at 32:44 and Riiny finished at 32:58. The Clippers finished with a team score of 329 points, placing them in 13th place out of 15 teams.

 

 

For the women, sophomore Emily Ringelberg (Pinetop, AZ) was the top runner for Concordia, with a time of 23:26. Ringelberg averaged 7:32 for the 5 KM race. Sophomore Stephanie Sameisky (Monroe, NY) finished next for Concordia at 28:40, followed by senior Danielle Bacon (Levitttown, NY) and freshman Kasey Grisanti (Bronx, NY), who came in at 29:18 and 29:21, respectively.  The Clippers finished with a team score of 171 points, good for 7th place out of 7 teams.

Concordia will travel to Cunningham Park in Queens, NY to compete in the St. John's Fall Festival on Sunday, October 14th.
