BRONXVILLE, N.Y. - The Concordia Clippers men's tennis program began their spring schedule on Wednesday with a non-conference match against Fairleigh Dickinson University. Concordia would come away with a win against the NCAA Division I opponent as the Clippers took a 6-3 victory at the Meyers Tennis Center.

The Knights traveled with only four healthy players, so Concordia won the No. 3 doubles as well as the No. 5 and No. 6 doubles by default. In doubles play, the No. 2 duo of freshman Axel Oljons (Stockholm, Sweden) and freshman William Nilsson (Bastad, Sweden) earned an 8-3 win against Miki Nobuzawa and Maciej Autuch. The No. 1 duo of junior Eymeric Chevalier (Bordeaux, France) and freshman Henry Masters (Northampton, England) followed with a hard-fought 9-8 (2) victory over Niclas Pietsch and Moric Budinszky to claim the match-clinching win.

In singles play Chevalier dropped a 7-6 (1), 6-4 decision in the No. 1 match against Pietsch while Masters also fell in straight sets in his No. 2 match against Budinszky 6-4, 6-0. The Clippers' lone singles victory came in the No. 4 match as freshman Michele Fenoaltea (Rome, Italy) battled to a 6-3, 7-6 (2) against Nobuzawa while Nilsson was edged 7-5, 3-6, 1-0 (4) in his No. 3 match against Autuch.

Concordia (2-0) will next host Franklin Pierce University on Sunday, February 25th for a non-conference match beginning at 2 p.m.
