Concordia’s Daniele Piludu Named ITA All-American
Skillman, NJ– Daniele Piludu (Cagliari, Italy) has been named an Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-American in singles on the Clippers' men's tennis team. This is the fifth consecutive season in which Concordia has had a player named to the ITA's All-America team on the men's side. To be awarded the honor a player must finish the season in the Top 20 of the final Campbell/ITA National Rankings.
Piludu, a sophomore, finished the season with a No. 15 singles ranking nationally and the No. 1 player in the East Region after finishing the year with a 19-3 singles record and a 13-8 doubles record. Daniele was named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference's (CACC) most valuable player in the post season tournament while also earning the CACC Player of the Year honors during the regular season.
Piludu finished the season with nine consecutive victories in singles play which included a win over the East Region's former No. 1 singles player in early April and three victories over nationally ranked players.
