Clippers fall to Barry in NCAA Semifinal
The Clippers faced off in the second final four appearance in school history. They were paired up against Barry University.
Andreas Lindell and Tamas Dobrot
ka, at the number three doubles position, went to work straight
away. With the match on serve at four all Lindell and
Dobrotka ran into some trouble. Lindell and Dobrotka were
broken twice on their serve and they fell 8-4.
Felix Missal and Raphael Namias stayed on serve with their
opponents until the last minute. With the score at 6-6 it
would be the first to break to move ahead. Barry seized
the opportunity and unfortunately Missal and Namias fell 8-6.
Alex Grubin and Andrey Boldarev, worked the points back and
forth and were staying with
their opponents. With an even score Grubin and Boldarev were
broken and fell 8-6.
With the Clippers down 3-0 it would be a lot of work for the singles matches.
All six Clippers started their singles matches. Each Clipper worked hard on court but two slipped and fell. Barry collected their last two points to move on and sent the Clipper unfortunately home.
