Clippers head back to Sweet 16 with win over Rams
The Clippers faced off against the Philadelphia University Rams
one more time this season, this time to head back to the NCAA Round
of 16. With the teams facing each other for the fourth time
this season; twice in regular season play, once for the CACC
Championship and
Alex Grubin and Andrey Boldarev, at the number one doubles position, showed their complete dominance while on the court. With a dominating performance the pair let up just one game through the match and put the first point for the Clippers on the board with an 8-1 win over their Rams opponent.
Felix Missal and Raphael Namias were at ease in the number two doubles spot as they broke their opponents three times. With just two games going the Rams way the pair put the second point on the board with an 8-2 win.
Andreas Lindell and Tamas Dobrotka paired up once again and proved that they are force to be reckoned with on the court as they broke their opponent three times. With an 8-2 win from Lindell and Dobrotka the Clippers were in the lead 3-0.
Singles was up next for the team as they would see who would finish first.
With his killer instinct on the court, Andreas Lindell, went for
a personal time record as he demolished his opponent. With
out dropping one game through the first set Lindell moved
right on to his second. Lindell continued to show his fast pace
play as he went on to grab the second set without dropping a
game. As the 6-0; 6-0 scores from Lindell came in another
teammate was mirroring his play.
Tamas Dobrotka, at the number five spot, was also holding court through his two sets. As Dobrotka mirrored Lindell and vise versa, Dobrotka was ever dominate. With no games going the Rams way through out the match Dobrotka notched a 6-0; 6-0 victory and the Clippers won the match 5-0.
With the win, the Clippers move ahead to the Sweet 16 round of the NCAA Tournament next week May 12th-15th in Florida.
