Men's Tennis Cruises to 6th Straight Win
Bronxville, NY - The Concordia College men's tennis team won their 6th straight match by downing the Panthers of Adelphi University 9-0 yesterday at the Meyers Tennis Center in Bronxville, NY.
Concordia opened with a dominant doubles portion of the match. Sophomore Alex Grubin (Belgrade, Serbia) and freshman Andrey Boldarev (Tashkent, Uzbekistan) defeated Alex Molotsky and Tomasz Walczak 8-2 at No. 1 doubles. Junior Henning Ruenz (Muelheim-Kaerlich, Germany) and sophomore Richi Malobicky (Pulheim, Germany) won at No. 2 doubles over Sebastian Nieves and Anton Voynov by a score of 8-3. The closest match of the day was at No. 3 doubles, where senior Vito Galatioto (Yonkers, NY) and freshman Viktor Kim (Tashkent, Uzbekistan) slipped by Joseph Carbone and Bandar Kayali 9-7.
With their 6th straight win, the Clippers improve to 7-3 overall and 3-0 in the East Coast Conference. The Panthers drop to 5-4 on the season and 1-1 in conference play.
Concordia will step out of ECC play on Thursday, April 2nd, as they travel to West Long Branch, NJ to face the Division I Hawks of Monmouth University. Play will begin at 2:30 PM.
