Boldarev Named ECC Rookie of the Week

Central Islip, NY - Freshman Andrey Boldarev (Tashkent, Uzbekistan) has been named the East Coast Conference Rookie of the Week, as announced the conference office today.

Boldarev posted an undefeated week in both singles and doubles competition this past week. Boldarev defeated Marco Jemersic of Division I Fairleigh Dickinson University 4-6, 6-2, 6-4 at No. 2 singles on Saturday. Boldarev also teamed with sophomore Alex Grubin (Belgrade, Serbia) at No. 1 doubles for an 8-2 win over Matt Gordon and Andrew Denny. The Clippers defeated the Knights of Fairleigh Dickinson University 4-3.

On Sunday, Concordia swept the Kutztown University Bears 9-0. Boldarev and Grubin beat Lukas Labitsch and Santiago Baquerizo 8-4 at No. 1 doubles. The freshman defeated Labitsch 7-6 (7-3), 6-0 at No. 2 singles. The Clippers will travel to Flushing, NY on Tuesday, March 31st to take on the Queens College Knights in an East Coast Conference battle. The action begins at 3:00 PM.
