Daytona Beach, FL - The Concordia College men's tennis team fell to the Eagles of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University yesterday by the score of 5-2 in Daytona Beach, FL.

The Clippers went ahead early in a race to 5 matches by claiming 2 out of the 3 doubles matches. Kirill Azovtsev (St. Petersburg, Russia) and Nik Boerger (Muenster, Germany) edged Carlos Bes Comeras and Jan Hoekzema 8-6 at #2 doubles and the duo of Josep Molet (Sabadell, Spain) and Henning Ruenz (Muelheim-Kaerlich, Germany)  defeated Tomoaki Yasuda and Istvan Bolgar 8-4 at #3 doubles.

With Concordia ahead 2-1, the Clippers needed to win 3 of the remaining 6 matches in singles competition. The Eagles started the comeback at #4 singles, as Azovtsev lost 6-4, 6-4 to Hoekzema. Next to finish was Bolgar with a 6-4, 6-3 win at #6 singles over Vlad Malkin (Moscow, Russia).
