Clippers Sweep Northeast 10 Conference Opponents

Bronxville, NY - The Concordia College men's tennis raised their winning streak to six matches with a pair of 9-0 victories over Stonehill College and Bentley College from the Northeast 10 Conference yesterday at the Meyers Tennis Center in Bronxville, NY. Josep Molet (Sabadell, Spain) improved his overall singles record to 9-3, as the sophomore battled back from a 6-2 loss in the first set to claim a 2-6, 7-5, 7-5 win over Michael Mashkevich of Stonehill College. Freshman Henning Ruenz (Muelheim-Kaerlich) remains unbeaten on the year with a 6-1, 6-1 win at #5 singles over Will Herchel of Stonehill College and an 8-0 win at #3 doubles over Patrick Schorno and Michael Dolan of Bentley College. At #1 doubles, junior Rodrigo Teixeira (Vitoria, Brazil) and freshman Alex Grubin (Serbia) served up easy victories over Greg Maloomian and Greg Avola of Bentley College (8-2) and Herchel and Jason Allegretti of Stonehill College (8-1).
Concordia improved their overall record this season to 11-2 and remain at 3-0 in the East Coast Conference.
Concordia will get back into action on Thursday, April 12th, as they host the Golden Lions of Dowling College in East Coast Conference action. First serve is set for 3:00 PM.
