Men's Tennis Dominates STAC 9-0

Bronxville, NY - The Concordia College men's tennis team won their fourth straight contest yesterday, defeating the Spartans of St. Thomas Aquinas College 9-0 at the Meyers Tennis Center in Bronxville, NY. Sophomore Sabyasachi Bose (Calcutta, India) stayed undefeated so far this season, defeating Ryan Maher in singles 6-0, 6-1 and teamming with freshman Henning Ruenz (Muelheim-Kaerlich) at #2 doubles for a 8-0 victory. Bose is 5-0 in singles play and 1-0 in doubles play. Ruenz is also perfect on the season with a 6-0 mark in both singles and doubles competition. Freshman Nik Boerger (Muenster, Germany) continues his impressive season with a straight set win over Jeff Boyce and an 8-0 win at #1 doubles with Josep Molet (Sabadell, Spain). Boerger is 7-2 and 10-2 in singles and doubles competition, respectively. Junior Vito Galatioto (Yonkers, NY) recorded a 6-0, 6-0 win at #6 singles over Jerome Dunbar and an 8-0 win with John Cassas (Bogota, Colombia) at #3 doubles.

 

 

The win improves the Clippers record to 9-2 overall and 3-0 in the East Coast Conference. St. Thomas Aquinas College falls to 0-5 overall and 0-2 in the East Coast Conference.

Concordia will travel this weekend to Bloomsburg, PA to compete in the Bloomsburg University Duals. On Friday, April 6th, the Clippers will face Stonehill College at 12:00 PM and Bentley College at 4:00 PM. On Saturday, April 7th, Concordia will do battle with the host institution, Bloomsburg University, at 8:00 AM and will end the weekend against East Stroudsburg University at 11:30 AM.
