Eagles Soar Past Clippers 7-2
Daytona Beach, FL - The Eagles of Embry-Riddle University swept through doubles play and claimed 4 of the 6 singles flights to defeat Concordia 7-2 yesterday in Daytona Beach, FL. The Clippers were able to secure wins at #5 singles and #6 singles.
At #5 singles, sophomore Vlad Malkin (Moscow, Russia) defeated Luke Maricic in a very close match, 7-6 (7-4), 6-7 (3-7), 10-3. Freshman Henning Ruenz (Muelheim-Kaerlich) defeated Sean Winbauer 6-1, 6-2 at #6 singles.
The Clippers finish their Spring Break Trip 3-1 and improve their overall record to 4-2. Embry-Riddle improves to 8-1 on the season.
The Clippers will return back to the Meyer Athletic Center on Sunday, March 18th for the Alumni match at 3:00 PM. Concordia will resume NCAA play on Friday, March 23rd, as they host the Bulldogs of Bryant University. The action gets underway at 3:00 PM.
