Men's Soccer Shuts Out Saint Rose for First Win of the Season, 2-0

ALBANY, N.Y. - The Concordia Clippers men's soccer team earned a 2-0 win at The College of Saint Rose on Saturday evening in non-conference action at the Plumeri Sports Complex, their first victory of the 2017 season.

Concordia knocked in their first goal of the evening in the 14th minute of action as freshman Dennis Limani (Norderstedt, Germany) dribbled the ball into the box and sent a pass to sophomore Elad Katz (Tel Aviv, Israel) for his first goal of the season. Limani would add the Clippers' second goal of the game in the 54th minute as he would gather a loose ball take a low shot for his second goal in as many games for Concordia.

Junior goalkeeper Jaime Gonzalez (Madrid, Spain) made two key saves in the final five minutes of the game to preserve the shutout victory for the Clippers. Overall, Gonzalez registered eight saves in the contest as Concordia was out-shot 19-12.

The Clippers (1-1) will open up Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play on Saturday, September 9th against Goldey-Beacom College.
