Bronxville, NY - Clippers nab Homecoming win over Chestnut Hill College

The Clippers hosted the Chestnut Hill College Griffins for the second half of the homecoming double header.  The first half of the game was a back and forth game with each team taking their shots.  Each team trying to score but were unable as the goalies each saved two for the half.  The score remained at zero after forty-five minutes of play. 

The second half found the some of the same play happening between the two teams.  Both teams attempting to get another CACC win under their belt before the second half of the season kicks in.  With a foul called against the Griffins the Clippers would get a free kick.  Fabian Contreras set the ball up 25 yards out and put the ball in the back of the net to give the Clippers the 1-0 lead.  With almost forty minutes still to play the Clippers would have a fight on their hands.  The Griffins pushed and pushed but time kept on ticking down.  The Clippers fought hard to keep the Griffins on the defensive side as they out shot the Griffins 12-8 for the game.  The Clippers saw the last seconds on the clock tick away and were able to hold onto the 1-0 lead for their second win of the season. 

Fabian Contreras scored his first goal of the season while goal keeper Guilherme Ferreira saved three for the game. 

The Clippers will next head off to the University of Bridgeport on Tuesday, September 29th for a non-conference show down.
