Philadelphia, PA - Clippers outplay but unable to out score Tigers
The Clippers Men's Soccer team played the Holy Family University
Tigers today. As the Tigers and the Clippers battled it out
on the pitch the Clippers fourth goalie of the year Rafael Espinoza
settled himself in front of the goal.
The Tigers scored first in the battle less than ten minutes into
the game. The Clippers headed onto the offensive end.
The Clippers did give up two more goals as the Tigers went ahead
3-0. As the Clippers continued to fight back Samuel Ortega
crossed the ball from the left side to Giovanni Olarte as he headed
it into the goal for the Clippers first goal. The Clippers
were down at the half 3-1 but they outshot the Tigers 11 to
4.
The Clippers continued to shoot the ball in the second half as a
ball from Val Desrosiers from the right side was headed by Xhovano
Dardha into the net for the Clippers second goal of the game.
The Clippers continued to shoot and again outshot the Tigers 16 to
7 in the second half giving them the offensive advantage.
Unfortunately the Clippers would see the Tigers score two more time
in the second half to take a 5-2 lead. The Clippers tried to
score again but unable to seal the deal and dropped the game.
Rafael Espinoza saved two in goal while almost all field players for the Clippers were able to get shots off.
The Clippers will head to Long Island as they will face off in a non-conference game with Long Island University C.W. Post on Wednesday, October 28th.
