Clippers finish out season with a win over Goldey-Beacom
Bronxville, NY – Clippers finish out season with a win over Goldey-Beacom The Concordia College Men’s Soccer team finished out their season by hosting Goldey-Beacom College. The Clippers dominated the game from the beginning as they got their shots on goal off early. As the Clippers stayed well on the offensive, the Clippers defense pushed up to give support for the attack and it paid off for them. With a free kick Rafael Espinoza passed the ball to Ulyses Salceda who shot it in the goal to give the Clippers the 1-0 lead. The Clippers continued to play well on the offensive to finish out the first half as they out shot the Goldey-Beacom College Lightning 12-2.

Brookville, NY – Espinoza scores lone goal as Clippers drop to C.W. Post The Clippers traveled to Long Island today to play C.W. Post in a non-conference match-up. As the rains continued the Clippers and the Pioneers battled it out on the soccer field. The Pioneers scored three quick goals to start the first half off. The Clippers tried to get onto the offensive side but were unable to as the Pioneers sut them down. The Clippers were out shot in the first half 19-4.

Philadelphia, PA – Clippers outplay but unable to out score Tigers The Clippers Men’s Soccer team played the Holy Family University Tigers today. As the Tigers and the Clippers battled it out on the pitch the Clippers fourth goalie of the year Rafael Espinoza settled himself in front of the goal.

Old Westbury, NY – Davis gets his first goal of the season but Clippers drop to NYIT The Clippers traveled to Old Westbury, NY today for a non-conference match-up with New York Institute of Technology. The Clippers fell quickly back onto defense as NYIT scored twice in less than ten minutes. The Clippers attempted to get on the offensive side of the ball but were out shot but NYIT in the first half 10-2. NYIT held their lead as they were up 5-0 at the half.

Clippers make-up game with Felician a tough one
Bronxville, NY – Clippers make-up game with Felician a tough one The Clippers hosted Felician College one more time today. The game previously was suspended due to the weather. The Clippers started the game attacking the ball but soon found themselves offsides. With Felician countering they got the early lead with the first goal. The Clippers were then able to hold off Felician through the rest of the half. With each team going back and forth with shots Felician was able to hold their lead at the half.

Nyack, NY – Clippers play well but Rams out score The Clippers men’s soccer team traveled to Philadelphia University for a CACC face off with the Rams. The Clippers coming off a rest period headed out on the field with a new attitude. The Rams though scored first off of rebounded ball from the post. The Clippers then worked together as they were able to hold off the Rams through the next half hour of play. With the Clippers working to get the ball up the field for shots their chances in the first half were few. The Rams out shot them in the first half 7-2. At the end of the half the Clippers were down 2-0.

Nyack, NY – Clippers drop to Warriors in close game. The Clippers men’s soccer team traveled to Nyack College today. The Clippers started the game on defense. The Warriors of Nyack saw an opening in the first few minutes of the game and scored. From that point on the Clippers were able to contain the Warriors from scoring again. The Clippers attempted to get on offense but were unfortunately halted as the Warriors out shot the Clippers in the first half 11 to 4. With the Warriors stagnate on offense the Clippers were only down by one at the half.

Bear, DE – Clippers fall hard under Wildcats attack The Clippers men’s soccer team faced off in another night time match up this weekend, this time against Wilmington University Wildcats.

Clippers fall to Post in tough night time game
Waterbury, CT – Clippers fall to Post in tough night time game The Clippers headed north to Waterbury, Connecticut as they faced off against the Post University Eagles. The Clippers headed onto the field to work but soon found out that they were matched-up with a tough Eagles team. The first half saw the Post Eagles go aggressive as they stayed on offense. The Clippers unable to get many shots off fought hard to keep the Eagles from scoring. Guilherme Ferreira worked his magic in goal as he was able to save four in the first half. With the score at zero both teams headed into halftime.

Bronxville, NY – Clippers game with Felician Suspended due to weather The Clippers hosted Felician College in a CACC match-up. With the rain already falling heavily on the field both teams hit the pitch to play. With each team battling each other as well as the rain and the deteriorating field conditions the game was going to be a struggle to play. At half time Felician was up 1-0 over the Clippers.

Bridgeport, CT – Clippers Men’s Soccer struggles with Bridgeport The Clippers Men’s Soccer team traveled to the University of Bridgeport for a non-conference match-up. Bridgeport was the first to attack as the Clippers tried to clear the ball. Unfortunately Bridgeport scored the first goal of the game and took the early lead. The Clippers continued to work on defense but Bridgeport scored three more goals before the end of the half.

Bronxville, NY – Clippers nab Homecoming win over Chestnut Hill College The Clippers hosted the Chestnut Hill College Griffins for the second half of the homecoming double header. The first half of the game was a back and forth game with each team taking their shots. Each team trying to score but were unable as the goalies each saved two for the half. The score remained at zero after forty-five minutes of play.

Bronxville, NY – Alessandro Persampieri earned Rookie of the Week from the CACC. Alessandro Persampieri, a freshman from Tuckahoe, New York, earned the Rookie of the Week from the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) for the week ending September 20th.

Heredia scores two for the Clippers as they win first game of the season
The Clippers Men’s Soccer team hosted Caldwell College today in a CACC match-up. The Cougars of Caldwell College quickly scored in less than two minutes into the game giving them the early lead. The Clippers wouldn’t stay down for long. Alessandro Persampieri got a through ball from Marcin Jaworek and punched it in for his third goal of the season and to tie the game up. Minutes later another through ball, this time from Rafael Espinoza to Ulyses Salceda was chipped in and the Clippers took their first lead of the game. Caldwell scored to tie the game a few minutes later but the Clippers offense was not done. A pass from Jorge Bronoquis to Rich Heredia gave the Clippers the 3-2 lead.

Bronxville, NY – Persampieri scores again but Clippers can’t hold on with Bloomfield The Clippers men’s soccer team opened up their home stand with Bloomfield College. The Clippers worked hard and passed the ball around throughout the first half. It was a battle for the beginning half to see who if anyone would score first.

Coach Pennetti hosts free soccer clinics for the community
Bronxville, NY – Coach Pennetti, the head men’s soccer coach for Concordia College (NY), hosted two free soccer clinics for kids ages 4 through 10. The first of the two were for the youngest member to the soccer world, ages 4 to 6. The later was for those a little more experienced, ages 7 to 10.

Dobbs Ferry, NY – Clippers drop close game with old conference rivals Mercy College The Clippers traveled down the Hudson River to face off against their old conference rivals Mercy College. The first half of the game the Clippers went out on the field and found themselves evenly matched against Mercy College. With each team having their chances neither could capitalize on their shots and at the end of the half the score remained at zero.

POST PICKED FIRST IN CACC MEN’S SOCCER PRESEASON POLL
NEW HAVEN, CT – If the preseason poll is any indication, the 2009 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men’s Soccer season should be as competitive as ever. Five teams received at least one first-place nod in the poll, and the No. 3 through No. 6 spots were separated by only 10 votes. The poll was voted upon by the 12 CACC head coaches. Post University, the defending CACC Champion, was chosen first with 129 points. Dominican College was next with 117 votes, while Wilmington University (109), Philadelphia University (103) and Bloomfield College (102) round out the top five.
