Nyack Edges Clippers 1-0

Nyack, NY - The Concordia College men's soccer team was defeated by the Warriors of Nyack College 1-0 today at the First Annual Warrior Classic Tournament in Nyack, NY. Baba Fatoba scored the lone goal of the game for Nyack in the 88th minute of play from an assist by Tim Conway.

Junior Stefan Dimitrov (Bulgaria), who averages 7.5 shots per game, was limited to just two shots on the afternoon. Junior Christian Castillo (Washington, DC) led Concordia with three shots in the game and freshman Guilherme Ferreira (Sinop, Brazil) fired off two shota as well.

Senior Clint Providence (Kingstown, St. Vincent) played all 90 minutes in goal for Concordia, giving up the lone goal of the game and registering 5 saves on the afternoon.

In earlier tournament action, Houghton College defeated fellow ECC member St. Thomas Aquinas College 2-0.

The Clippers will continue play at the Warrior Classic Tournament on Saturday, September 15th, as they take on the Spartans of St. Thomas Aquinas College. The game will begin at 3:30 PM, or 30 minutes after the conclusion of the championship game between Houghton College and the host Warriors of Nyack College at 1:00 PM.
