Concordia Tops Pioneers 1-0

Bronxville, NY - The Concordia College men's soccer team defeated the Pioneers of C.W. Post 1-0 today ay Holtdorf Soccer Field in Bronxville, NY. Sophomore Ulyses Salceda (Houston, TX) scored the game-winning goal in the 59th minute of play. Senior Joseph Shaw (Kingston, Jamaica) assisted on the goal, his second assist of the season.

The game was evenly played between both teams. The Pioneers outshot the Clippers 7-6. Senior goalkeeper Ivan Rodriguez (Galicia, Spain) played the entire 90 minutes in goal, registering 3 saves. Joel Sanger finished with 4 saves in goal for C.W. Post.

The victory improves the Clippers record to 4-6 overall and evens their East Coast Conference record at 1-1. C.W. Post falls to 1-6-1 overall and 0-2 in the East Coast Conference.

Concordia will travel to Bridgeport, CT on Saturday, September 29th to face the University of Bridgeport Purple Knights. The action gets underway at 1:00 PM.
