Clippers Outdueled by Warriors 8-5

 

                                                    

Forward Stefan Dimitrov (Bulgaria) and midfielder Daniel Olarte (Columbia) each scored 2 goals, but it was not enough as the Clippers fell to the host Warriors 8-5 yesterday in Nyack, NY. Olarte opened up the scoring in the 7th minute and scored again in the 9th minute, with an assist from Mario Juarez (Mamaroneck, NY), to give Concordia an early 2-0 lead.  Nyack would respond with 3 goals by Tim Conway to close out the first half with a 3-2 lead.

In the second half, Nyack's Ryan Gomes would add to the Warriors lead in the 57th minute. Dimitrov would answer 55 seconds later with the first of his 2 goals on the afternoon. Midfielder Kris Tirri (Yonkers, NY) would get the assist. Tirri would also pick up an unassisted goal in the 66th minute. Ivan Rodriguez (White Plains, NY) played 62 minutes in goal for Concordia, giving up 6 goals and finishing with 3 saves. Michael Valdovinos (Bulgaria) finished the final 28 minutes in goal for the Clippers.

The loss drops the Clippers record to 2-12 overall. Nyack improves to 4-12-1 overall.

The Clippers will travel out to Philadelphia, PA on Saturday, October 22nd to battle the Tigers of Holy Family University. The action gets underway at 11:00 AM.
