Men's Soccer Falls to Spartans 3-1
(Bronxville, NY) - The Concordia College men's soccer team lost to fellow East Coast Conference member St. Thomas Aquinas College by the score of 3-1 today at Holtdorf Field in Bronxville, NY. Forward Stefan Dimitrov (Bulgaria) scored the lone Clipper goal in the 24th minute to tie the score at 1-1. Gerald Jones opened the scoring in the 7th minute for St. Thomas Aquinas College on an assist by Jose Osorio. The score would remain at 1-1 until the 80th minute when Jones would strike again to put the Spartans up 2-1. Junior goalkeeper Ivan Rodriguez (White Plains, NY) played all 90 minutes in goal, finishing with 3 saves.
The loss drops the Clippers record to 2-11, 1-6 in the East Coast Conference. St. Thomas Aquinas College improves to 6-7-2 overall, 2-5 in the East Coast Conference.
The Clippers return to the field on Thursday, October 19th, as they travel to Nyack, NY to face the Warriors of Nyack College. Game time is set for 4:00 PM.
