BERLIN, Md. – The Concordia College men's golf team claimed a share of the team title with Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) rival Dominican (N.Y.) College at the St. Thomas Aquinas Spring Invitational at the Rum Pointe Seaside Golf Links over the weekend. Both the Clippers and the Chargers finished the two-day tournament with a 597 (+21) with CACC foe Wilmington (Del.) finishing third with a 601 (+25).
Concordia shot a 297 (+9) during the first round, then followed with a 300 (+12) at the par-72 course with 12 programs in attendance. Freshman Minwoo Park (Toronto, Ontario, Canada) led the Clippers with a 145 (+1) as his 73 (+1) and 72 (E) would place him 4th out of 62 participants. Senior Chartpetch Bangpetch (Chonburi, Thailand) placed 5th, one stroke behind Park as he would card a 71 (-1) and a 75 (+3) to end the tournament with a 146 (+2).
Junior Kanoon Bunthanawong (Chonburi, Thailand) recorded a top-20 finish as he shot a 152 (+8) to finish T-16th after rounds of 75 (+3) and 77 (+5). Junior Evan Hong (Houston, Texas) finished the tournament with a 155 (+11) as his 79 (+7) and 76 (+4) would place him T-31st. Sophomore Tyler Lanza (New Milford, Conn.) rounded out the scores for Concordia as he would place T-35th with back-to-back rounds of 78 (+6) to finish with a 156 (+12).
The Clippers will next travel to Ballston Spa Country Club in Ballston Spa, N.Y. for the two-round Tim Brown Invitational hosted by Skidmore College beginning on Saturday, April 21st.
