HANOVER, N.H. – The Concordia Clippers men's golf team concluded the final round at Southern N.H. University's Penmen Fall Invitational on Tuesday. Concordia would finish 8th overall out of 14 programs at the Hanover Country Club.
As a team the Clippers finished with a 579 (+27), two strokes behind Franklin Pierce University. Southern N.H. would take the team title with a 555 (+3) as St. Thomas Aquinas and Bentley rounded out the top-three spots. Fellow Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) foes Post and Dominican (N.Y.) would finish fourth and fifth, respectively.
Junior Evan Hong (Houston, Texas) led Concordia with a 144 (+6) during the tournament as his 73 (+4) today would have him finish T-25th out of 81 participants. Junior Kanoon Bunthanawong (Chonburi, Thailand) shot a 71 (+2), the lowest round score for the Clippers, as he improved 17 positions to finish with a two-day total of 145 (+7) in T-29th.
Senior Chartpetch Bangpetch (Chonburi, Thailand) would also finish with a 145 (+7) in T-29th as he ended the tournament with a 72 (+3) this afternoon. Sophomore Tyler Lanza (New Milford, Conn.) shot a 74 (+5) in his second round to place T-48th with a 150 (+12). Freshman Minwoo Park (Toronto, Ontario, Canada) rounded out the scores for Concordia with a 79 (+10) as he would also card a two-day total of 150 (+12) in T-48th.
The Clippers will be back in action this weekend as they will participate in the two-day Charger Challenge hosted by Dominican (N.Y.) at the Spook Rock Golf Course in Suffern, N.Y. beginning on Saturday morning.
