LAFAYETTE HILL, Pa. - Junior Kanoon Bunthanawong (Chonburi, Thailand) led the Concordia men's golf program to an individual and team victory at Jefferson University's tri-match on Friday evening at The ACE Club to kick off their 2017 fall schedule.
The Clippers finished the round with a 318 while Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) foes Jefferson University and the University of the Sciences both finished with scores of 351. Bunthanawong led all golfers with a 77 (+5), finishing two strokes ahead of Nick Nguyen of Jefferson to claim the individual medalist out of 15 participants. This is Kanoon's first-ever collegiate individual medalist.
Freshman Minwoo Park (Toronto, Ontario, Canada) shot a 79 (+7) in his collegiate debut to place T-2nd while sophomore Tyler Lanza (New Milford, Conn.) placed 4th with an 80 (+8). Junior Evan Hong (Houston, Texas) shot an 82 (+10) to finish T-5th as senior Mark Kilpatrick (Cheshire, England, United Kingdom) rounded out the scores for Concordia with an 83 (+11) to place 7th.
The Clippers will next travel to Hanover, N.H. to participate in Southern N.H.'s Penmen Invitational at the Hanover Country Club on Sept. 18th and 19th.
