Lafayette Hill, Pa. – The Concordia men's golf team finished in second place in the 11-team field at the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Championships on Wednesday afternoon. The finish was the best performance in the history of the program at the CACC Championships.
Sophomore Eutimio Fernandez-Meade (Mexico City, Mexico) would lead the team with a 152 (+8) as he was named to the CACC All-Tournament Team after finishing 3rd overall out of the 54 golfers in the field. His 73 (+1) after the first round gave him the overall lead after Tuesday's competition.
Senior Jeffrey Schaller (Kingston, N.Y.) finished tied for 6th with a 156 (+12) while Junior Sam Deitte (St. Louis, Mo.) finished tied for 9th with a 157 (+13) as his second round score of a 76 (+4) was the best for the Clippers on the day.
Junior Kyle Grandilli (Port Colborne, Ontario, Canada) placed fourth for Concordia with a two-day total of a 164 (+20) while freshman Steve Plezia (Melville, N.Y.) rounded out the scores for the Clippers with a 184 (+40).
Wilmington University captured its third consecutive CACC title after finishing with a team score of 611 while Concordia totaled a 629 and Nyack finished with a 632.
The Clippers will conclude their regular season schedule at the Mike Bello Invitational hosted by Le Moyne College at the Timber Banks Golf Course in Baldwinsville, N.Y. The two-day event will kick off on Sunday, April 14th.
